(photo and recipe from Woman's Day Magazine)

Different from the usual drop method for this cookie. I made this recipe serveral years ago and it was an instant hit.
So I thought you'd might like to try it if you haven't already. :-)
Mawood

1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks), softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups (12 oz. package) chocolate mini-morsels, divided
1 can vanilla frosting

Beat butter, brown sugar, sugar, vanilla and salt in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg yolk. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in 1-1/2 cups morsels. Divide dough in half; cover and chill for 1 hour or until firm.

Roll 1/2 of dough to 1/4-inch thick between 2 pieces of wax paper. Remove top sheet of wax paper. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Lift from wax paper and put on ungreased cookie sheets. Chill for 10 minutes. Repeat with remaining dough.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes. Remove from wire racks to cool completely.

Spread or pipe with frosting and melted semi-sweet chocolate morsels as desired.

TO PIPE CHOCOLATE: Place remaining 1/2 cup morsels in a heavy duty plastic bag. Microwave on high for 10 seconds; knead until smooth. Cut a tiny corner from bag; squeeze to pipe chocolate.
