Peel, core and slice the apples. Melt butter in saucepan and then add the apples. Cook about 5 minutes, then add the spices, sugar and water.
Simmer until apples are soft.
Dough
1 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 Tbs. margarine
1/3 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
In bowl, mix flour, oil, margarine and water. Knead until firm. Roll dough flat on floured surface.
Cut dough in rounds, (I use a glass drinking cup), and place apple mixture equally onto dough shapes. Fold in half and press seam together. Place dough into muffin cups.
Bake at 375 degrees until done.
TIP: I usually use pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice for the cinnamon and nutmeg.
