Graveyard Gelatin Dessert
Recipe by Jello

2-1/4 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs, divided
1/2 cup sugar, divided
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
2 cups boiling water
1 package (8-serving size) or 2 packages (4-serving size) Jello Orange Flavor Gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
Ice cubes
Decorations: assorted oval or rectangular-shaped sandwich cookies, decorating icings and gels, candy corn and pumpkins

Mix 2 cups of the crumbs, 1/4 cup of the sugar and butter thoroughly with fork in a 13x9x2-inch dish until crumbs are well moistened. Press firmly onto bottom of pan, using measuring cup. Refrigerate until ready to fill.

Beat cream cheese and remaining 1/4 cup sugar in a large bowl with wire whisk until smooth. Gently stir in 1/2 of the Cool Whip. Spread evenly over crust. Stir boiling water into gelatin in a large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Mix cold water and ice cubes to make 1-1/2 cups. Add to gelatin, stirring until slightly thickened. Remove any ice. Spoon gelatin over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.

Spread remaining Cool Whip over gelatin. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup crumbs. Decorate sandwich cookies with icings to make "tombstones". Stand tombstones on top of dessert with candies to resemble a graveyard. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.

Yield: makes 15 servings
