Cocoa Bread Crumb Cookies

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup fine breadcrumbs

Cream the butter, sugar and cocoa together thoroughly. Add the eggs and vanilla, then crumbs. (The mixture should be as thick as cake batter.) Spread thin in a well-greased cake pan 8x8x2-inch, and bake in a slow oven 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut into squares or rounds and put together sandwich fashion with favorite jelly or jam. Ice lightly with any plain or chocolate icing.

Yield: 2 dozen squares
