1 can apple pie filling
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 box cake mix
Cool Whip (optional)

Pour apple filling into a 9x9-inch pan.Sprinkle dry cake mix over apples. Melt butter and drizzle over top of dry cake mix. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 35 minutes. Serve topped with Cool Whip if desired.
