Caramel Pecan Pie

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 baked 9-inch oat crust (recipe follows)
Cool Whip (optional)

Combine the milk, sugar and salt in a saucepan on low heat until thickened, stirring often, (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in half of the pecans. Pour into the baked pie shell and sprinkle with the remaining pecans. Cool and top with Cool Whip if desired.

OAT CRUST
1 cup quick oats
1/3 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 tablespoon melted butter or margarine

Combine all the ingredients, mixing well. Press into bottom and sides of a lightly greased 9-inch pie pan. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
